Lakes and Parks
It is a sure bet that a city surrounded by 27 prime sporting lakes will offer great recreational sports and good fishing. Bass fishing? Drive less than an hour from Tyler to Lake Fork which has produced 11 of the top 20 bass in Texas. For serene beauty, Lake Tyler and Lake Palestine are just minutes from Tyler. Tyler State Park is made up of 985 acres of woods surrounding a small lake. Twenty-five additional parks are located in Tyler, all with picnic areas. Four local parks have ideal hiking and bike trails.

Golf
Tyler having been recognized as the number one golf city in Texas by Golf Digest Magazine, pushed golf to the top of the list for a year around outdoor activity. There are over 17 courses, both public and private, within a one hour drive of downtown.
